1. Source for birth and death information is Daniel Harper's headstone at Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Waxhaw, Lancaster County, SC.

2. Daniel Harper arrived in Charleston on 22 December, 1767 in the ship Earl of Donegal. He was granted 100 acres at Wild Cat Creek in Lancaster County. Daniel Harper practiced medicine in Chester District in partnership with Dr. James Knox. He married the widow of Dr. John (Jean) Cantzon. During the Revolution, Harper was a Loyalist, and returned to Ireland with his wife and her children. Although warned not to return because of his loyalist reputation, he returned to South Carolina and was killed by regulators. He is buried in Old Waxhaw Cemetery, Lancaster County. His will is on file in the South Carolina Archives in the Chester County Wills, Book A, page 282.
