Got information on George M. Perry, father of Mary Ann Perry, Motherof Lawrence Decody Bailey. George M. Perry was born 17 July 1770, anddied 21 Sep 1846 in Lancaster District, South Carolina. George is buriedin Cunningham Cemetery, Summerville, S.C.
The following is a note concerning a trip to South Carolina byRamsey Thomson and DeCody Brad Marble during the summer of 1997.
Mary Ann Perry had a brother named Elijah, he was the surveyor forWilliam Fleming Bailey Senior's land purchased in Lancaster County. There are many Perrys buried in the cemeteries we visited, and LibertyHill Cemetery has the most. I didn't have time to record them all.Liberty Hill is on highway 97 in Kershaw County south of Lancaster andruns along Lake Wateree. The Perry lineage is one I will probably lookinto in the near future. The Perrys were a family of wealth and Ibelieve Lawrence Decody Bailey got his name from his mothers side of thefamily. I will be making a document of Ramsey's and my travel thatSaturday. I had taken notes as to where everything is. Will send you acopy. /s/ Brad Marble.
