James Blair

  General Notes:

James Blair was born in 1768 on his River Mill Plantation in the Waxhaws region of Lancaster County, South Carolina, where he died in 1801 and is buried at Waxhaw Presbyterian Church. He was an only child. His father immigrated from Antrim, Ireland through Pennsylvania to South Carolina.

James married Mary Cantzon, daughter of Unknown and Sarah Dickey, on 15 May 1792 in Kingstree, Williamsburg County, South Carolina.¹ (Mary Cantzon was born in 1773 in Kingstree, Williamsburg District, South Carolina and died in 1843 in Marshall County, Mississippi.)
