Peoples . . . a certain piece and parcel of land . . . containing 100 acres which is a part of a tract of land formerly belonging to the estate of Edmund Deason and purchased by me which said part is "lying between the road that leads pass Hails Gold mine and Little Lynches Creek bridge adjoining lands of Hial Helton." Dated 6 Aug 1838. Recorded 7 Aug 1838. Wit: James M. Shaw, Robert Kirks. (Note: Have not found deed where Hugh Gardner originally purchased the land.)

(Note: Have not found out how Edmund Deason acquired the 902 acres.)

Robert married Suzanne "Susannah" Deason, daughter of Edmond Riley Deason and Hester Cato. (Suzanne "Susannah" Deason was born about 1795 and died in 1872 in Flat Creek Township, Lancaster, SC.)
