bullet  General Notes:

1. Laurel Hill Cemetary is at 201 Little Dude Avenue in Kershaw, next to Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Sammie and Donnie Morgan were members of Center Grove Baptist Church, just off Hwy 521 north of Kershaw, between Kershaw and Heath Springs, across from Andrew Jackson High School. Laurel Hill Cemetary is about a mile or so west of Center Grove Baptist Church.

2. Sammie and Donnie Morgan's grave is near the left corner of the cemetary, at the corner of the two streets (Little Dude Ave and Fork Hill Rd).

3. Sammie Morgan's obituary from The Charlotte Observer, 10 Jun 1989. Sammie Morgan died in an automobile accident on US 521 near his home, which is near Andrew Jackson High School. He died about six months after his wife, Donnie Holden Morgan died of cancer.

Kershaw-Sammie Morgan, 78, of Route 2, Box 156, died June 8, 1989, in a traffic accident. Funeral is at 2 p.m. today in Center Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Hanf and Rev. Coit Auten officiating. Burial is at Laurel Hill Cemetary. Mahaffey Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Morgan was the son of the late Vannie and Bessie Phillips Morgan. He was the widower of the late Donnie Holden Morgan. He was a retired quill hauler for Springs Industries. He was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his daughters, Miss Mildred Morgan and Miss Betty Marshall, both of Lancaster, Mrs. Bessie Knight and Mrs. Ella Mangum; sister, Nettie Powers of Lancaster; half-brothers, Jake Morgan and Melvin Morgan, both of Lancaster; Roger Morgan and Billy Morgan; half-sisters, Mrs. Elsie Deason of Charlotte, Mrs. Myrtis Holden and Mrs. Margie Floyd; 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Center Grove Baptist Church, Route 2, Kershaw, 29067.

Sammie married Donnie Holden, daughter of Alexander "Aleck" Holden and Lou Ella Sims, after 1930. (Donnie Holden was born in 1912 in Kershaw, Kershaw County, SC, died on 19 Jan 1989 in Kershaw, Lancaster County, SC and was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetary.)
